Rainbow Fashion: Embracing The Vibrant Symbol Of Pride Month

It’s been nearly 25 years since June was first declared as Pride Month by President Bill Clinton in 1999. Pride Month is here, which means it’s time for 30 straight days of celebrating the LGBTQ+ community in all its glory, showering members and allies alike with love, positivity, and all-around good vibes. We highlight some of the brands that are supporting LGBTQIA+ people and are releasing products with purpose — Pride-themed collections with empowering messages.

Adidas released its Pride 2023 collection, a unique partnership with South African queer designer Rich Mnisi. The collection, titled ‘Let Love Be Your Legacy’, combines lifestyle and performance apparel and footwear with the shared ambition of promoting allyship and freedom of expression in all spaces of sport and culture. Key figures including Adidas partners Tom Daley, Jari Jones, Athlete Ally, and South African rugby player Lusanda Dumke have joined the campaign.

The North Face launched its "Summer of Pride" collection, including a series of outdoor events and a line of rainbow-themed apparel and accessories made with recycled materials. The purpose of The North Face's Summer of Pride collection is to bring people together and celebrate local LGBTQ+ communities while enjoying the outdoors. The lineup includes popular daily items like hoodies, t-shirts, totes, basecamp slides, tank tops, and more.

To celebrate the Pride month, Puma released Suede WAE Pride sneakers through the recently. WAE stands for "We Are Everything," and the shoe is designed to promote self-expression and representation for everyone in the LGBTQIA+ community. The Suede WAE Pride shoe features a suede upper, rubber midsole and outsole, synthetic leather, and branding details. It comes in a black, white, and multi-color design with all-over print details.

Let It Out, a campaign by Calvin Klein, celebrating the collective euphoria at the heart of the LGBTQIA+ community. As part of this year’s collection, two limited-edition t-shirts were designed in support of ILGA World and Transgender Law Center. Featuring the phrases “Empower Each Other” and “Show Up For Trans Youth,” the tees reflect our proud support of these organizations in their efforts toward LGBTQIA+ advocacy, equity and safety.

Pride Month is a time to embrace diversity, love, and acceptance. Fashion allows us to express our individuality and stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community. Not just during Pride Month but throughout the year. Together, we can make a difference and create a more inclusive world for all.
