The Fashion Brands That Should Be On Your Radar
Created 16/02/2023
Looking to catch up on all the recent fashion happenings? This round-up will do the trick. Made up of a slew of trending brands that made the news for different reasons, this list is truly not to be missed. First up, the most searched label this week go to MSGM with a 70% increase in search activity. Having launched its Pre-Fall 2023 as well as presenting its Fall/Winter 2023 lines last month, the brand has been hard at work since the start of the year, but the jump in searches can be attributed to the recent Sanremo Music Festival — a popular television song contest in Italy that’s known as one of the biggest events of the year. During the annual affair, MSGM dressed one of the performers — singer-songwriter and rapper Gianmaria in not one but three über-chic ensembles.
When it comes to the music world, though, no event (and artist) made bigger waves than Rihanna at the 2023 Superbowl. Tapped as the Halftime Show performer, she took the stadium in a custom Loewe jumpsuit look in striking red. The 13-minute appearance contributed to a jump in searches for the Spanish fashion house by 35% and subsequently, a rise in Instagram followers by nearly 30K. Speaking of football, Cincinnati Bengals’ quarterback Joe Burrow made waves during the AFC Championship game when he arrived in Kansas City in a pink T-shirt with “Sorry in Advance” printed on it. Although many thought that he was alluding to the match, the words were actually the name of the fashion brand founded by Gossip Girl actor Evan Mock. The outfit boosted search activity by 26%.
In other news, Paco Rabanne, the designer behind the iconic eponymous brand passed away on February 3 at age 88. Well-loved for his signature metal-plated dresses and bags, he was truly a fashion innovator with a futuristic vision, and he’ll definitely be missed. The news of his passing led to a 62% increase in search activity. As expected, the label’s top three categories are dresses, tops and bags, so if you are looking for any of these items, Paco Rabanne is a great option. With couples all over the world celebrating Valentine’s Day on February 14, fashion e-commerce platform Show Me Your Mumu is featured on an array of gift guides online, boosting its searches by 29%. From frilly mini dresses to bright, printed co-ords, you can find a wide range of outfits that are perfect for dates.
The list will never be complete without a collaboration release, and LA-based streetwear label Bricks & Wood’s partnership with not one but two labels put it in the limelight (+33%). Back in late January, the brand unveiled its New Balance 9060 sneaker design that’s inspired by his grandmother’s house. Fast forward to this month, it teamed up with fellow streetwear label Circulate on a T-shirt capsule collection in conjunction with the Grammy Awards.
