Walking On Style With These MSCHF "Super Normal"
Created 02/03/2023
From high-street labels to luxury design houses to lingerie brands, this week’s guide features a mixture of names and recent happenings that are not to be missed. Continuing its streak from last week, MSCHF remains the number one brand of the week with a 70% increase in search activity. But while last round’s boost was due to its viral big red boots, this time, it’s taking it down a notch with a more “normal” item — literally. Dubbed the Super Normal 2, the sneakers come in a mint and white colourway with a hint of pink. The pair will be released sometime this month.
Searches for lingerie continue to trend. Following La Perla’s surge in popularity in the last round, British luxury lingerie label Myla is the next name to know as it shares the top spot with MSCHF (+70%). Founded in the ‘90s, it’s known for its ultra-feminine designs that are stylish yet comfortable.
Fellow London-based womenswear brand Di Petsa is the next brand to know, as its search activity jumped by 51%. Its founder and designer Dimitria Petsa recently showcased her eponymous brand’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection during London Fashion Week, unveiling her signature wet-look ensembles that are inspired by the ancient mythology of her Greek heritage. With Zendaya, Kylie Jenner, Doja Cat, and Shakira being some of her celebrity clientele, the label is definitely one to watch.
When it comes to A-listers’ favourite footwear brands, Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin or Manolo Blahnik may be some of the first names that come to mind, but here’s a brand that proved to be a serious contender. Enter René Caovilla (+50%) — a Venetian luxury shoe brand that has been around since 1923 (fun fact: it’s the second oldest footwear brand in the world). The Cleo sandals that are highlighted by the spiral details around the ankle are truly an icon, and they’ve been spotted on Rihanna, Bella Hadid, Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian and more.
With a 27% increase in search activity, sustainable and ethical footwear brand LØCI is also trending due to its celebrity connections. Launched in 2021, the label secured an investment from actor and environmentalist Leonardo DiCaprio last December to push its mission to make an impact. Every single pair of LØCI shoes is crafted using certified recycled ocean plastic, and 10% of its online profits are channelled towards wildlife conservation countries.
